Our client, an ENR Top 400 self-performing contractor, is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support water treatment and wastewater treatment plant construction projects in Wilmington. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage schedules, budgets, and engineering compliance on complex infrastructure work. If you have 5+ years managing $5M+ water/wastewater projects, this is your next move.
What You Will Run
You will provide direct management support across multiple projects, working alongside the Project Manager to keep work on time and on budget. Your days will split between the office and the field, balancing schedules, submittals, vendor invoices, and subcontractor coordination.
- Create and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar software
- Develop project budgets and prepare accurate forecasting
- Manage change orders, submittals, and material certifications
- Review labor reports and advise on crew sizing, production rates, and equipment needs
- Process vendor and subcontractor invoices, manage schedule of values
- Maintain project files, drawings, and production records
- Coordinate with owners and engineers on scope changes and technical compliance
- Support job site safety and positive subcontractor relationships
What It Takes
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience with water treatment or wastewater treatment plants
- Proven ability to manage $5 million contract values
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar project management software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid, non-restrictive driver’s license
- 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the US, and able to pass a drug test
