Our client, an ENR Top 400 self-performing contractor specializing in water treatment and wastewater treatment plant construction, is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for their Raleigh office. This is a hands-on role managing multiple projects from budget through completion, with real P&L responsibility and direct input on how work gets built.
What You Will Run
You will provide direct management support across multiple projects, owning schedules, budgets, submittals, and vendor coordination. You will work alongside the Project Manager and Superintendent to keep projects on time and on budget while ensuring all work meets engineering standards and specifications.
- Create and manage project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar software
- Develop project budgets and maintain accurate cost forecasting
- Prepare and track all submittals, change orders, and engineering documentation
- Coordinate material procurement, approvals, and delivery
- Process vendor and subcontractor invoices and manage schedule of values
- Review labor reports and advise on crew sizing, production rates, and equipment needs
- Maintain project files, drawings, and production records
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors
- Monitor job site safety and support continuous improvement
What It Takes
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience with water treatment or wastewater treatment plant projects
- Proven ability to manage projects with $5 million+ contract value
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar project management software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid, non-restrictive driver’s license
- Ability to pass a drug test and be legally eligible to work in the US
- 18 years of age or older
