About the Role
A self-performing contractor is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support a major data center project in Augusta. You will own operational and administrative leadership across all phases of construction, keeping projects safe, on schedule, within budget, and built to spec. This is a 50/50 field and office role that demands both hands-on site presence and sharp project controls.
What You Will Run
- Develop cost-effective plans and schedules that optimize resource utilization across the full project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors across multiple trades and project phases.
- Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure all specifications and regulations are followed.
- Manage construction contracts, permits, and licenses.
- Track schedule and costs in real time to keep the project on time and on budget.
- Generate RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
- Report progress and recommend plan modifications to the Senior PM.
What It Takes
- B.S. in construction management or civil engineering.
- 4+ years in site development for commercial projects, including data centers, pharma facilities, or warehouses. Experience with grading, utilities, and civil/sitework on projects of increasing complexity.
- Proven ability to manage at least one project independently.
- Self-performed construction experience or direct oversight of in-house work, not subcontractor-only background.
- Hands-on knowledge of take-offs, change orders, and plan interpretation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working under pressure while coordinating multiple trades and groups toward maximum efficiency.
- Willingness to work 50% field, 50% office.
Comp and Benefits
- Salary: $95,000 – $135,000 DOE.
- Vehicle allowance: $900 – $1,100 monthly, plus fuel card and maintenance coverage.
- PTO: 2 weeks plus 8 company paid holidays.
- 401(k): 5% match.

The Details
Work hours are 7 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekend work as needed. No travel required. This is a direct hire role based in Augusta.
