A self-performing contractor with major aggregate operations across Colorado is hiring an Aggregate Quality Control Manager to lead quality assurance across multiple pit locations. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise in materials testing with real authority to direct production and manage a team of QC technicians. What You Will Run
- Lead and develop QC technicians across all pit locations, with home base in Denver
- Establish daily testing schedules for pit run and finished products; direct corrective actions when material goes out of spec
- Oversee CDOT, municipal, and commercial specification testing; maintain compliance with MSHA, CDOT, and environmental standards
- Track, analyze, and report quality data; produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports for leadership
- Partner with operations on blast design, crusher settings, and screen configurations to optimize product quality
- Maintain testing equipment, calibration, and lab facilities; oversee QC technology integration
- Support customer visits and quality audits; collaborate with sales on specifications
What It Takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Mining Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years in aggregate quality control or materials testing
- Working knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and CDOT standards
- Experience with crushing, screening, washing operations, and aggregate production processes
- Proven experience leading technical teams with strong judgment and authority to stop production when needed
- Proficiency with quality data systems, statistical process control, and quality analysis
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively with customers, regulators, and internal partners
- Comfort working outdoors in quarry environments in all weather conditions; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk on uneven terrain
- CDOT Aggregate Certification, ACI Aggregate Testing Technician, MSHA Part 46 or 48, or Six Sigma preferred
