Amundson Group
A self-performing contractor is staffing up for a 2-year infrastructure project in Southwest Arizona near the border. If you run survey crews with precision and own the full scope of party chief responsibilities, this is a solid, stable assignment with real project runway.
What you will run
You will lead survey operations across multiple phases of a major construction project. Your crew will handle full-spectrum survey work, machine control integration, and site documentation. You will own quality control, crew coordination, and the translation of field data into actionable CAD deliverables. This is hands-on leadership, not a desk job.
What it takes
- Proven experience as a survey party chief or lead surveyor
- Solid command of machine control systems and their field application
- Full survey skill set: layout, staking, grade checking, and data collection
- CAD drafting experience is a strong plus
- Ability to manage crew performance and maintain survey accuracy standards
- Willingness to work in Southwest Arizona and Southern New Mexico for the duration of the project
Comp and benefits
$70,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience. The contractor provides $75 per day lodging allowance to support your time on site.
The reality
This is a 2-year project with real stability. You will work for a self-performing contractor that values crew continuity and technical competence. The location is remote, which means the work is consistent and the crew stays intact. If you are looking for a long-term assignment where your survey leadership matters, this fits.
