Estimator

A self-performing heavy civil contractor with a strong Southeast presence is building out its Atlanta estimating team. If you’ve got heavy civil experience in DOT, roadway, bridge, or transit work, there’s real ownership and visibility waiting for you here. Two roles open: Junior Estimator (0-5 years) and Senior/Lead Estimator (8-15+ years). Either way, you’ll own your scope from day one on projects ranging from $50M regional DOT bids to multi-billion-dollar programs.

What You Will Run

Junior Estimator

• Own and manage specific scopes within larger bid packages (earthwork, drainage, concrete, etc.)
• Collaborate with the lead estimator to develop competitive bids for DOT and transit work
• Assist in quantity takeoffs and subcontractor/vendor solicitation
• Work your way toward leading full bids as you develop

Senior/Lead Estimator

• Lead full turnkey bids from kickoff through submission on heavy civil DOT and transit projects
• Manage major scopes independently on P3 and mega-project pursuits
• Mentor junior estimators and support team development
• Interface with owners, developers, and JV partners on large-scale pursuits

What It Takes

Experience

• Heavy civil experience in DOT (highway, roadway, bridge) and/or transit strongly preferred
• For junior candidates: DOT/transit background is a plus but not required. Commercial or building civil backgrounds will be considered
• For senior candidates: roadway/civil estimating experience is expected

Software

• HeavyBid (HCSS) is the primary platform here. Experience preferred, but not required. Training will be provided for candidates using other platforms

Education

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required. Equivalent hands-on experience is valued equally
