A self-performing heavy civil and site development contractor in the Southeast is hiring a Senior Estimator to lead complex bid cycles on municipal, industrial, and large commercial sitework projects ranging from $5M to $80M. This is a direct leadership role reporting to the Chief Estimator, with real autonomy over takeoffs, cost modeling, bid strategy, and preconstruction coordination. If you have 5+ years of heavy civil estimating depth and know earthwork, utilities, grading, and stormwater systems inside out, this is a stable, growth-oriented opportunity in a market that respects quality and reliability.
What You Will Run
- Lead full bid cycles from detailed quantity takeoffs through final price submission.
- Complete civil estimating takeoffs using industry software (AGTEK, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Trimble Business Center).
- Develop accurate cost estimates, schedules, value-engineering options, and bid proposals for complex site packages.
- Manage subcontractor outreach, pricing analysis, and scope leveling.
- Participate in bid strategy sessions with senior leadership and coordinate with project managers and operations teams pre- and post-bid.
- Provide weekly bid status updates, risk notes, and cost summaries to leadership.
What It Takes
- 5+ years of heavy civil and sitework estimating experience.
- Strong background in earthwork, utilities, grading, and stormwater systems.
- Proven track record estimating large-scale site development projects.
- Proficiency in AGTEK, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Trimble Business Center, and MS Office Suite.
- Local market knowledge in the Carolinas or Southeast preferred.
- Ability to lead takeoffs, manage subcontractor procurement, and support bid strategy at a high level.
- Note: This role is not a fit for candidates with purely vertical or commercial estimating backgrounds.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $120,000 to $150,000 per year, based on experience.

- Annual performance bonus based on company profitability and individual estimating performance, paid in Q1.
