A self-performing heavy civil contractor in North Carolina is hiring a Site Work Estimator to join their Apex office. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands dirt work, site logistics, and the real cost of moving earth. What You Will Run
- Estimate site work packages for wastewater treatment plants and heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Develop accurate bid costs for earthwork, grading, drainage, and site preparation
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to refine estimates based on real-world conditions
- Review plans, specs, and site conditions to identify scope and risk
- Support the estimating team on a range of regional projects
What It Takes
- 5 to 10 years of estimating experience in site work or heavy civil construction
- Background with a self-performing general contractor, not a design or consulting firm
- Deep knowledge of earthwork, equipment costs, and site logistics
- Ability to read plans and understand wastewater infrastructure scope
- Track record of staying in roles and building expertise, not job-hopping
- Honest, direct communication style. This team values raising your hand when something is wrong
