A self-performing contractor across the Southeast is hiring a Project Engineer to support their Wilmington operations and regional projects. This is a hands-on role managing schedules, materials, and coordination on active construction sites. What You Will Run
You will be the right hand to Project Managers and Superintendents, handling the operational details that keep projects moving. Your day includes material procurement and expediting, preparing submittals and certifications, maintaining project files and drawings, coordinating with subcontractors, and tracking costs on change orders. You will also assist with scheduling, purchasing decisions, invoice approvals, and cash flow optimization. Safety is non-negotiable, and you will observe and correct violations on site.
What It Takes
- 4 year engineering degree, construction management degree, or 5 years of equivalent field or office experience
- Ability to read drawings and understand construction documents
- Experience with project planning, scheduling, and estimating
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and construction software like Primavera or COINS
- Familiarity with purchasing, pricing, and purchase order preparation
- Ability to prepare subcontractor scopes of work
- 18 years or older, legally eligible to work in the US, and able to pass a drug test
