Senior Estimator, Phoenix, AZ
A self-performing heavy civil contractor is building out their Arizona estimating team and looking for a seasoned Senior Estimator who knows the Phoenix market inside and out. This is a producing role, not supervisory. You’ll own bids end-to-end, working independently with leadership oversight, and you’ll be the go-to estimator for dirt and pipe work in a growing operation.
What You Will Run
- Complete full estimates independently from start to finish, with no hand-offs
- Perform your own quantity takeoffs using HCSS and Bluebeam
- Bid dirt and pipe work as your primary focus; structures experience is a plus but not required
- Apply unit costs that reflect the Arizona market and DOT/heavy civil landscape
- Maintain and leverage relationships with local subcontractors to build accurate, competitive bids
- Collaborate with leadership on bid strategy and award targets
What It Takes
- Must be Arizona-based with deep knowledge of the local construction market
- Strong dirt and pipe estimating experience, this is the priority
- Ability to produce a complete, independent estimate, not just takeoffs
- Proficient in HCSS and Bluebeam
- Understanding of unit costs and the subcontractor ecosystem in Arizona’s DOT and heavy civil space
- Existing relationships with local subs are preferred
Compensation
Target range: $160K to $180K, with top of range at $200K for the right candidate.
