Senior Estimator, Heavy Civil

A self-performing heavy civil contractor in Middle Tennessee is looking for a Senior Estimator to lead their estimating function. This is a hands-on role with clear upside into team leadership as the company scales. If you’ve spent the last several years building estimates that actually win work and hold margin, this is worth a conversation.

What you will run

• Manage the full estimating cycle for heavy civil projects, from takeoff through bid delivery
• Build estimates in HCSS Heavy Bid, Agtek, and Bluebeam
• Partner with operations and project teams to value engineer solutions that make sense for the client and the company
• Mentor junior estimators and help shape the department’s processes as the team grows
• Own the relationship with key clients and subcontractors during the bid phase

What it takes

• 3 to 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience (5+ years if you’re coming from outside Middle Tennessee)
• Proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid, Agtek, and Bluebeam
• A track record of building estimates that reflect real project conditions and actual sub and material pricing
• Comfort with relationship-driven selling. This client values estimators who can explain the “why” behind a bid and work with clients to find better solutions
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of your estimates without constant oversight
• Willingness to grow into a leadership role as the company expands
