A self-performing heavy civil contractor in the Houston area is hiring an experienced Estimator to own the full bid cycle from start to finish. This is a high-autonomy role for someone who can work independently and deliver accurate, competitive estimates without constant oversight. Remote work available to start, but you must be local to Houston.
What you will run
- Complete bid management from takeoff through final proposal delivery
- Residential and commercial heavy civil projects, including utilities and grading work
- Agtek and Heavy Bid software for quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Scope review, material pricing, labor productivity, and risk assessment
- Client communication and bid follow-up as needed
What it takes
- Mid to senior level estimating experience on residential or commercial heavy civil projects
- Proven track record managing utilities, grading, and site work estimates
- Proficiency in Agtek and Heavy Bid software
- Ability to work fully independently and manage your own workflow
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver on tight bid schedules
- Local to Houston, TX (required)
