Assistant Project Manager
A self-performing contractor in Texas is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to join their growing team. This is an entry-level role for someone with construction education and a genuine interest in learning project management from the ground up. If you can read plans, understand permits and change orders, and want to build a career in construction, this is your opening.
What you will run
- Support project managers on active job sites across streets, utilities, and concrete work
- Review and track change orders and permit documentation
- Learn to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Assist with day-to-day project coordination and site communication
- Drive company vehicles during business hours to job sites and meetings
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in construction management, civil engineering, or related field
- Ability to read and understand construction plans
- Working knowledge of permits, change orders, and project documentation
- Basic familiarity with streets, utilities, concrete, and similar construction disciplines
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to learn and work hands-on with experienced project managers
Compensation and benefits
55,000 to 70,000 per year, depending on experience and background. You will have access to company vehicles during work hours. Vehicle allowance becomes available upon promotion to Project Manager.
