Project Manager – General Construction Division
A self-performing construction contractor in Texas is building out a new General Construction division and needs an experienced Project Manager to lead it from the ground up. This is a leadership opportunity to establish processes, build a team, and run significant projects for a growing firm that values impact and autonomy over corporate formality.
What you will run
You will manage a $5M project launching in January involving generator installations for a major municipal utility client. This is the flagship project for the new division. You will own the full scope: utilities, earthwork, concrete, asphalt, and site coordination. You will report to operations leadership and have the autonomy to shape how this division operates.
What it takes
- Proven PM experience with utilities, site development, earthwork, concrete, and asphalt work
- Direct experience managing municipal utility projects or similar infrastructure work
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and crews on projects in the $5M+ range
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative, less formal environment
- Willingness to help build a division from scratch, not just manage existing operations
Comp and benefits
$100,000 to $115,000 per year, plus vehicle allowance, cell phone allowance, health insurance, 401k match, and commission based on project and company profitability.

Our client is an established self-performing contractor with two existing divisions: Retail (interior remodels) and Site/Civil work. They operate with a straightforward culture. Dress code is jeans and a collared shirt. Leadership recently made the decision to hire immediately for this PM role, so the timeline is compressed and the need is real.
