A self-performing contractor specializing in municipal, utility, and government work is hiring a Project Manager to lead multiple concurrent projects across Texas. This is a high-visibility role managing $200K to $10M+ jobs with strong earning potential through base salary and quarterly bonuses tied to project closeouts.
What You Will Run
You will manage approximately 4 projects simultaneously, handling the full lifecycle from setup through closeout. Your scope includes scheduling, schedule of values creation, pay applications, change management, and compliance oversight. Projects span site and civil construction, utilities, asphalt, and concrete work. You will serve as the primary point of contact for key municipal and government clients, including ongoing work with major accounts. The role is roughly 80% office-based, with field visits as needed to coordinate with superintendents and subcontractors.
What It Takes
- Minimum 5 years as a Project Manager, or equivalent senior PM-level responsibility
- 5 to 10+ years total construction experience preferred
- Proven expertise in site and civil construction, utilities, asphalt, and concrete
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects up to $10M, including billing, scheduling, and project controls
- Experience managing subcontractors across multiple trades
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication with clients, field staff, and leadership
- Comfort handling high-volume paperwork and administrative responsibilities
Not a fit: residential, multifamily, heavy highway, or school construction backgrounds.
Comp and Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 to $125,000 per year, based on experience
- Quarterly bonus based on closed jobs; annual bonus potential $10,000 to $60,000+ once projects reach closeout

- Vehicle allowance $400/month, cell phone allowance $50/month, gas card, and toll tag as needed
Location
San Antonio, TX preferred. Non-local candidates may be considered, but local presence is strongly favored.
