Field Operations Manager
A self-performing contractor specializing in underground utility infrastructure is hiring a Field Operations Manager to lead daily field operations across manhole leveling, water meter installation, and CCTV inspection crews in Florida. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will directly impact project delivery, crew safety, and client satisfaction on municipal infrastructure projects.
What You Will Run
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily activities for multiple crews across various job sites, ensuring productivity and on-time delivery.
- Supervise manhole leveling, water meter, and CCTV inspection operations while monitoring progress and addressing field issues in real time.
- Lead, mentor, and develop foremen and field personnel through daily huddles, safety meetings, and performance coaching.
- Serve as the primary field representative for clients, inspectors, municipalities, and property owners, managing communication and professional job-site representation.
- Enforce OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies, including traffic control, confined space entry, and PPE compliance.
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure accurate execution and quality standards.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Track production metrics, job costs, and material usage while maintaining accurate field reports and documentation.
What It Takes
- Underground Utility Contractor’s License required.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in underground utilities, pipeline rehabilitation, or municipal infrastructure construction.
- 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience managing multiple field crews.
- Strong knowledge of manhole leveling, water meter installation and replacement, and CCTV sewer inspection operations.
- Experience supervising heavy equipment operations.
- Valid driver’s license, CDL preferred.
- Proficiency with mobile reporting systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk job sites around heavy equipment and live traffic.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required.
