Estimator – North Carolina
A self-performing contractor in North Carolina is hiring an Estimator to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role where you will own the full estimating process, from takeoff through bid delivery, working directly with project managers and field leadership. What You Will Run
- Complete project takeoffs and cost estimates for construction work
- Manage the estimating workflow from bid request through proposal submission
- Conduct job site visits to gather information and clarify scope
- Collaborate with project managers and operations to ensure estimates align with execution
- Maintain estimate files, historical data, and bid tracking systems
- Support the sales and bidding process with accurate, competitive pricing
What It Takes
- Estimating experience in construction (residential, commercial, or heavy civil)
- Proficiency with takeoff software and spreadsheet tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadline pressure
- Willingness to visit job sites and communicate with field teams
- Organized, self-directed, and comfortable owning the estimate from start to finish
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $65,000 to $120,000 annually, based on experience
- Company truck provided (take-home for experienced estimators; office-based for junior roles)
- Cell phone allowance of $75 per month
- Weekly pay schedule
- Paid time off starting at 1 week annually, scaling with tenure
- Annual performance-based raises and eligibility for company bonuses in strong years
