Senior Civil Estimator
A self-performing contractor in the Southeast is hiring a Senior Civil Estimator to lead pricing strategy and project estimation for a growing portfolio of civil and infrastructure work. This is a high-impact role that combines technical depth with client-facing leadership, offering significant upside through performance-based compensation.
What You Will Run
- Develop detailed cost estimates and pricing strategies for competitive bids across civil construction and infrastructure projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manage take-offs, and use industry-standard estimating software with precision.
- Own change order management from identification through negotiation and documentation.
- Build and defend project budgets with clarity on scope, risk, and profitability.
- Serve as a primary point of contact with engineers, architects, owners, and internal leadership to align estimates with project realities.
- Drive win rates by balancing aggressive pricing with sound project economics.
What It Takes
- 7+ years of estimating experience in civil construction or telecom infrastructure.
- Expert ability to read blueprints and navigate take-off software.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills; comfort presenting estimates and defending assumptions to clients and leadership.
- Strategic mindset: you think about how to price work to win without leaving money on the table.
- Initiative and ownership; you take on change order management and budget building without being asked.
- Understanding of civil scope, sequencing, and risk factors that drive cost.
Compensation and Growth
Base salary of $140,000 to $175,000 per year, plus a substantial performance bonus structure. First-year total compensation expectations exceed $300,000 based on company growth and your contribution to win rates and project profitability.
The role is based in the Alpharetta, Georgia area with potential flexibility for other regional locations as the company expands across the Southeast.
