What You Will Run
- Gather, calculate, and compile data for conceptual and bid proposal estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs directly from construction plans.
- Prepare bid packages and analyze subcontractor bids for accuracy and value.
- Maintain current, accurate pricing information from suppliers and contractors through direct contact and written materials.
- Prepare proposals for submission to potential clients.
- Assist in pricing updates and cost history management for future estimates.
- Prepare and handle construction drawings, including copying and distribution as needed.
- Coordinate material delivery schedules to job sites.
What It Takes
- High school diploma minimum; Associates degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of construction estimating experience.
- Strong math and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans accurately.
- Comfortable working both in the office and on job sites for inspections and measurements.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid environments.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and crawl as needed during site visits.
- Acceptable corrected vision and hearing required.
Compensation
$75,000 to $85,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
