A self-performing contractor in North Carolina is hiring an Estimator to own cost analysis and budget management on grading and utility projects. You’ll report directly to the Project Manager, control project financials, and work alongside experienced construction teams in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
What You Will Run
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies from blueprints and technical specs.
- Read, interpret, and estimate from schematics and construction documents.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and vendors.
- Apply budgeting, cost estimating, and financial management principles to keep projects on target.
- Provide technical guidance to architects, engineers, and field teams.
- Ensure compliance with contracts, quality standards, and all applicable codes.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local construction regulations.
- Organize resources, prioritize competing tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
What It Takes
- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience with a grading and/or utility contractor.
- Proficiency in Agtek, HCSS, and Bluebeam (required).
- Strong knowledge of construction codes and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team-first mindset.
