Foreman

A self-performing contractor is hiring a Foreman to lead underground utility installation across Virginia. This is hands-on leadership on active job sites where you’ll run crews, operate equipment, and own daily execution on water mains, sewer, and storm drainage projects. If you’ve got 6-10 years in the trades and want to step into a leadership role that values both technical skill and crew management, this is worth a conversation.

What You Will Run

You’ll oversee all aspects of underground utility work, including water main installation (ductile and PVC), gravity sewer, storm drainage, conduits, and duct banks. Your day includes planning and scheduling crew tasks, calculating grades and material volumes, reading plans and survey stakes, and ensuring daily production targets are met. You’ll operate heavy equipment like bulldozers, trackhoes, backhoes, loaders, and skid steers while simultaneously leading your crew and managing subcontractors on site. Safety is non-negotiable. You own the job site culture and make sure every team member goes home the same way they came in.

What It Takes

• 6-10 years of hands-on experience installing water, sewer, and storm drainage systems
• Proven ability to supervise crews and manage job sites
• Strong equipment operation skills across multiple machines
• Ability to read blueprints, survey data, and calculate grades and material volumes
• High school diploma or GED minimum
• Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred
• Experience with demolition, clearing, grading, excavation, roadwork, and asphalt paving a plus
• Concrete experience preferred
