Amundson Group
A self-performing contractor is ramping up a major transmission pipeline project in the Tampa Bay area and needs an experienced Project Engineer to own day-to-day execution. This is a high-visibility role on a 26-mile water infrastructure program, with your focus on an 8-mile, 60-inch main segment. If you’ve got pipe experience and want to step into real responsibility on a significant project, this is the move.
What You Will Run
- Day-to-day engineering and coordination on transmission mains, 54-inch and larger steel pipe
- HDPE, Ductile Iron, and PVC pipeline work, including 24-inch segments
- Directional drilling operations and oversight
- Quality control, schedule management, and field problem-solving on an active 26-mile corridor
- Coordination with crews, contractors, and client stakeholders across the project footprint
What It Takes
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on pipe construction experience (HDPE, Ductile, PVC, or steel)
- Directional drilling background required
- Transmission main experience, preferably 54-inch and larger
- Ability to read plans, manage schedules, and communicate clearly in the field
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to be on-site in Hillsborough County
- Self-starter mentality. You’ll own sections of this project and be expected to solve problems without constant hand-holding
The Opportunity
This is a real project with real scope. You’re not shadowing. You’re engineering and coordinating a critical piece of infrastructure that matters. The office is conveniently located south of I-4 and I-75 in Hillsborough, and the work is steady through the full 26-mile program.
If you’ve worked for firms like Westra, Kimmins, Accurate Drilling, Mid-South, Wharton, PCL, Felix Civil, Carr and Collier, CAC Industries, or RCS, you already know the caliber of work and teams we’re looking for.
Compensation
Salary range: up to $80,000 depending on experience within the 2 to 4-year band.
