## Survey CAD Technician

A self-performing heavy civil contractor is hiring a Survey CAD Technician to support large-scale infrastructure and transportation projects across Texas. This role blends field survey work with office-based CAD production, reporting to the Texas District Manager. You’ll work on DOT, bridge, highway, and heavy civil projects where accuracy and problem-solving directly impact project success.

## What You Will Run

- Conduct physical site surveys using GPS, Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors, and Digital Levels
- Create DOT plans and convert survey data into 3D CAD models using Trimble, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Verify accuracy of survey measurements, calculations, and office-to-field reconciliation with the Survey Manager
- Maintain accurate field notes and survey records
- Read and identify construction plans quickly and accurately in the field
- Schedule crews, assign tasks, and manage equipment on active job sites
- Respond rapidly to construction issues and collaborate with project teams to solve problems
- Maintain safety standards and manage field crew supervision

## What It Takes

- Minimum 3 years experience as a CAD Technician in civil construction
- Proven background on DOT, bridge, structures, heavy highway, railroad, or dam/reservoir projects
- Proficiency with survey equipment and software: Trimble, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in hands-on construction environments and handle physical demands
- Self-motivated, independent, and experienced in field crew leadership
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Effective communication with internal teams and subcontractors
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other projects
- Drone Pilot License is a significant plus
- Bilingual capability preferred

## Comp and Benefits

- Base Salary: $90,000 – $130,000
- Discretionary annual bonus (1-10%) paid at anniversary
- 401k match: 4%

## The Role

Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm, with occasional Saturdays as needed. This is a 100% office-based position in Texas. Start date is ASAP.
