## Heavy Civil Estimating Role in Growing Florida Market

A self-performing heavy civil contractor in the Plant City and Lakeland area is hiring a Site Development Estimator to lead full bid packages for residential subdivisions, multifamily developments, and commercial sites. This is a plug-and-play role for an experienced estimator ready to own the bid process from takeoff through final presentation. The company has strong backlog growth and needs to expand estimating capacity immediately.

## What You Will Run

- Full quantity takeoffs in AGTEK for earthwork, utilities, paving, curb, concrete, and storm/sewer scopes.
- Complete bid assembly in B2W (or HCSS), including quantity sheets, production rates, cost summaries, and subcontractor quote review.
- Internal coordination with senior estimators, survey teams, and project managers on bid strategy and scope clarification.
- Final bid presentation and walkthrough with estimating leadership.
- Occasional jobsite reviews in Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco, Manatee, and surrounding counties.

## What It Takes

- Minimum 5+ years of civil site development estimating experience.
- Direct estimating background on subdivisions, multifamily sites, and commercial packages (warehouses, retail, big-box).
- Proficiency in AGTEK and B2W (or HCSS). Quantity takeoffs alone are not enough; you must build full bids.
- Stable work history. No job-hopping for minor pay bumps.
- Ability to communicate workload limits early and jump in when the team is bidding larger jobs.
- Ethical mindset. Report errors early rather than hiding them near bid deadlines.

## Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $100,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on depth of experience. Vehicle allowance approximately $400 per month (negotiable) plus mobile stipend ($60-70 per month). Annual performance bonus typically 5-10% of base. Medical, dental, and 401k with company match up to 3%. PTO starts at approximately 2 weeks and increases at Year 3 and Year 5.
