## Project Engineer

A self-performing heavy civil contractor is hiring Project Engineers in Arizona to lead large-scale infrastructure projects and grow into full Project Manager roles. This is a performance-based advancement opportunity for experienced engineers ready to take ownership and move fast.

## What you will run

- Support execution of major heavy civil projects: roadway, concrete, earthwork, paving, and infrastructure work
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers on daily operations
- Manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, and project documentation
- Track costs, assist with budgeting, and forecast project financials
- Ensure quality control and compliance with specifications
- Transition into managing full scopes of work and eventually entire projects as you prove capability
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution from preconstruction through closeout
- Own financial performance, subcontractor management, and client relationships

## What it takes

- 5 to 8 years of construction experience, ideally in heavy civil (earthwork, roadway, concrete, infrastructure)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong preference for DOT experience and familiarity with state DOT processes
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, field-driven environments
- Ownership mentality, accountability, and hands-on problem solving
- Willingness to travel and relocate for project opportunities

## Comp and benefits

- Base salary: $100,000 to $120,000 per year, based on experience
- Per diem for project-based work (approximately $120 per day for domestic travel)
- Company-paid temporary housing (hotel or Airbnb) or flexible arrangements
- Relocation assistance available
- Clear path to Project Manager roles with competitive compensation aligned to responsibility level

## The role and locations

Work is project-driven and mobile. You will be based in Arizona (Phoenix, Tucson, Lake Havasu) with potential assignments across U.S. project sites and international locations. “Remote” means working on-site at active project locations, not from home.
