## Project Engineer

A self-performing heavy civil contractor is hiring Project Engineers in Arizona to lead large-scale infrastructure projects and grow into full Project Manager roles. This is a performance-based advancement opportunity for experienced engineers ready to take ownership and move fast.

## What you will run

You will start as a Project Engineer supporting execution of major heavy civil work, then transition into Project Manager responsibilities based on performance. Your scope includes:

- Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers on roadway, concrete, earthwork, paving, and infrastructure projects
- Manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, and project documentation
- Track costs, budgeting, and forecasting
- Ensure quality control and compliance with specifications
- Progress into full project ownership: planning, scheduling, financial performance, subcontractor management, and client relationships
- Drive delivery from preconstruction through closeout

## What it takes

- 5 to 8 years of heavy civil construction experience (earthwork, roadway, concrete, infrastructure)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong preference for DOT experience and familiarity with state DOT processes
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, field-driven environments
- Ownership mentality, accountability, and hands-on problem solving
- Willing to travel and relocate for project opportunities

## Comp and benefits

- Base salary: $100,000 to $120,000 per year as Project Engineer, with advancement to $120,000 to $150,000 as Project Manager
- Per diem for project-based work (approximately $120 per day for domestic travel)
- Company-paid temporary housing or flexible per diem arrangements
- Relocation assistance available

## Work environment

Projects are based in Arizona (Phoenix, Tucson, Lake Havasu) and across the U.S., including potential international assignments. Work is on-site at active project locations.
