## About This Role

A self-performing contractor in North Carolina is hiring a Junior Estimator/Estimator to own cost estimates and budget management on grading and utility projects. You’ll report directly to the Project Manager, working in a team-oriented environment where your technical skills and negotiation ability directly impact project profitability and delivery.

## What You Will Run

- Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Apply budgeting, cost estimating, and financial management principles to keep projects on target.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors and vendors.
- Provide technical guidance to architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and quality standards.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local construction codes and regulations.
- Communicate effectively across teams using sales and negotiation techniques.
- Organize resources, prioritize competing tasks, and make complex decisions under pressure.

## What It Takes

- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience with a grading and/or utility contractor.
- Proficiency in Agtek, HCSS, and Bluebeam (required).
- Strong knowledge of applicable construction codes and regulations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team-player mentality.
- Customer-focused, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- Growth mindset and willingness to lead.
