## Estimator

Our client, a self-performing contractor specializing in civil and environmental construction, is hiring an Estimator in Raleigh, NC. This is a hands-on role where you will own the bid process from document review through post-award support, working alongside a collaborative estimating team to win and deliver complex projects across multiple states.

## What you will run

You will manage estimates across the full project lifecycle. Pre-bid, you will review plans and specifications, attend pre-bid meetings, conduct site visits, solicit vendor and subcontractor quotes, perform quantity takeoffs, and assemble detailed cost estimates. During bid, you will maintain vendor databases, coordinate with other estimators, evaluate sub bids against self-performance options, and support DBE participation efforts. Post-award, you will hand off estimates to project teams, respond to management questions, assist with value engineering and change orders, and feed lessons learned back into future estimates.

## What it takes

- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience
- 2 years of estimating, engineering, or sitework construction experience preferred
- Knowledge of earthwork, excavation support systems, deep foundations, and dewatering
- Proficiency with Agtek, Viewpoint EstimatingProContractor, Excel, Outlook, Word, and AutoCAD
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications, calculate quantities, and formulate costs
- Strong communication and people skills to work effectively within an estimating team
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple estimates simultaneously
- Ability to track job costs and maintain cost databases for future estimates
- 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the US, and able to pass a drug test
