## Estimator

A self-performing heavy civil contractor in North Carolina is hiring an Estimator to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll own the estimate process from scope review through bid delivery, working directly with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to price complex projects accurately and on time.

## What you will run

- Develop detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects by reading plans, performing take-offs, and quantifying scope.
- Manage bid pricing requests with material suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating and collecting quotes.
- Build and maintain working relationships with customers, trade partners, and internal team members.
- Communicate project scope and requirements across the organization to keep estimates on schedule.
- Ensure all estimates are completed on time and meet company standards.

## What it takes

- 3+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in heavy civil work.
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Strong grasp of construction processes, methods, and sequencing.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task under tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset and strong communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

## Education

Preferred: AAS in Construction Engineering Technology, BS in Construction Science, BS in Civil Engineering, or related field.
