# What Should a VP of Operations in Construction Expect to Earn in 2026?

A VP of Operations in construction earns based on several factors: the size and complexity of the portfolio you oversee, the sectors you work in (heavy civil, data center, rail, tunnels, wastewater, site development), years of experience, and the geographic markets where your projects run. Broader operational scope, managing larger teams, higher revenue volume, and multi-state programs, all push compensation higher. Certifications and a track record of cost control and schedule performance also carry real weight at this level.
