# What Does a Construction Headhunter Do, and Why Should I Work with One?

A construction headhunter is a specialized recruiter who identifies, vets, and places senior-level talent, including project managers, superintendents, estimators, project engineers, and foremen, into roles at general contractors and specialty firms. Unlike job boards, a headhunter actively sources candidates, often reaching passive talent who are not actively job hunting. Amundson Group works nationwide across heavy civil, site development, data center, rail, tunnels, and wastewater sectors. We manage the full process, understanding your market conditions, safety expectations, and schedule demands. For candidates, we negotiate competitive packages and bring clarity on travel and total compensation. For hiring managers, we pre-screen for schedule control, safety record, subcontractor management, and modern project tools. In a tight labor market, a headhunter saves you months of recruiting time and connects you to talent before it reaches a job board.
