Construction recruiting fees typically follow one of two structures: contingency, where you pay only if you hire, or retained search, where fees are paid in installments and the recruiter works exclusively on your role. Contingency fees are the more common model for project managers, superintendents, estimators, and similar roles. Retained searches are more common for executive-level positions. Fee percentages vary by firm, role complexity, and how competitive the candidate market is.
