# How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Recruiter Submits My Resume?

It varies by contractor, but initial feedback often arrives within a few days of submittal, with the full process running from under a week to roughly a month. Timing depends on the hiring manager's travel, how many interview rounds the client runs (phone screen, hiring manager call, then sometimes an in-person meeting) and your notice period. Field roles can move very quickly; a pipe crew can receive offers on a Friday and start the following Monday. Senior roles like chief estimator take longer. A good recruiter will update you even when the update is only that the client has not responded yet.
