# Do I Have to Pay a Construction Recruiter to Find Me a Job?

No. Reputable construction recruiters, including Amundson Group, are paid by the hiring contractor, never by the candidate. Nothing comes out of your first paycheck and there is no sign-up fee. Because the recruiter's fee is tied to the salary the client agrees to pay you, a good recruiter is motivated to negotiate the strongest package possible. What you should expect in return is honesty: tell your recruiter your true walk-away number, your location limits and anything that could surface on a background check, so they can position you accurately and avoid surprises later in the process.
