**Hiring for heavy civil, site development, paving, data center, rail, or wastewater work?** Amundson Group is a construction-only recruiter. First qualified resumes in 7 hours. [Send us the role](https://amundsongroup.com/hire-talent/) or call [(832) 558-7982](tel:+18325587982).

**Short answer:** Amundson Group recruits electrical superintendents. We are a veteran-owned, construction-only recruiting firm headquartered in Houston, and we recruit electrical superintendents, general superintendents and the general foremen ready to step up, for electrical contractors across the United States. Data center electrical work comes first, and we also recruit for water and wastewater plants, roads, rail and tunnel jobs. Send us the role and the first qualified resumes arrive in about 7 hours on average, with a vetted shortlist in 7 days.

## What an electrical superintendent runs

- **The field:** general foremen, foremen and crews, manpower loading and the look ahead schedule.
- **Installation:** conduit and cable, switchgear and transformer sets, terminations, lighting and controls, and the material flow from the prefab shop.
- **Energization:** lockout and tagout, NFPA 70E practice, testing, and the handoff to the commissioning team before power goes on.
- **Coordination:** the general contractor’s superintendent, the other trades, the inspectors and the owner’s team.
- **Safety and quality:** daily safety leadership, inspections, punch lists and turnover documents.

## Where we recruit electrical superintendents

- **Data centers:** hyperscale and colocation campuses with several data halls and a tight energization schedule. For campus searches, see our [data center electrical superintendent recruiter](https://amundsongroup.com/data-center-electrical-superintendent-recruiter-2026/) guide.
- **Water and wastewater plants:** plant expansions and upgrades with motor control centers, drives, instrumentation and controls.
- **Roads, rail and transit:** traffic signal, lighting and ITS packages on highway jobs, plus traction power and signal work on rail and transit systems.
- **Tunnels and underground utilities:** tunnel power and lighting, and duct banks for power and fiber.

## What electrical superintendents are paid

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has no separate superintendent occupation. In the federal O*NET occupation database, superintendent titles appear under both first-line supervisors (site superintendent) and construction managers (construction, general and job superintendent). In the BLS May 2025 national estimates for electrical contractors and other wiring installation contractors, first-line supervisors had a median annual wage of $93,500, with the 75th percentile at $118,230 and the 90th at $140,980, and construction managers had a median of $114,450, with the 75th percentile at $144,780.

The same BLS release put the first-line supervisor median across all industries at $79,920, so electrical contractors pay their field supervisors about 17% more than the all-industry figure. Travel and per diem come on top of base: the federal standard per diem for fiscal 2027 is $113 a night for lodging plus $68 a day for meals and incidentals, and GSA sets higher rates for many metros. Our [electrical construction salary guide](https://amundsongroup.com/electrical-construction-salaries-2026/) has the full percentiles and state figures.

## What we screen electrical superintendents for

- The size and type of jobs they have run, and how many general foremen and electricians reported to them.
- Voltage and equipment: medium voltage gear, switchgear lineups, generators, UPS systems and controls.
- Schedule control: look ahead planning, manpower curves, material and prefab coordination.
- Safety: their record, NFPA 70E practice, lockout and tagout, and energization procedures.
- Licenses: the state electrical licenses the job requires.
- How they work with the general contractor, the inspectors and the owner’s commissioning team.

## How an electrical superintendent search runs

One call on the job, the crew, the schedule and the pay, and one named recruiter from intake to start date. Sourcing starts the night you send the role, across a network of 90,000+ construction professionals, aimed at superintendents running electrical work for other contractors today. We manage the offer, the per diem and travel terms and the counteroffer risk, and we check in at 30, 60 and 90 days after the start date.

Searches run on a retained or engaged basis, with the fee quoted in writing before the search starts, and placements carry a written replacement guarantee.
